The story follows Light Yagami, a brilliant but bored high school student who stumbles upon a mysterious notebook known as the Death Note, dropped into the human world by a rogue Shinigami death god. The notebook grants its user the terrifying power to kill anyone simply by writing their name—provided the user knows the victim’s face.
Believing himself chosen to reshape the world, Light vows to use the Death Note to eliminate criminals and create a new era of justice under his rule. As criminals across the globe begin dying under mysterious circumstances, authorities respond by calling upon the enigmatic and legendary detective L.
What follows is an intense psychological battle between two brilliant minds. As Light and L circle each other, the line between justice and evil begins to blur. Deception, manipulation, moral ambiguity, and strategic mind games drive the story forward, forcing readers to question whether Light is humanity’s savior—or its greatest threat.
This complete box set preserves the original artwork, pacing, and storytelling exactly as released by the publisher, making it an essential collection for manga collectors, thriller fans, and readers who enjoy dark, cerebral storytelling.
